Jesse Begley is an accomplished butcher with over 20 years of experience in the meat industry. His journey began at the age of 18 when he joined the meat department at Kroger in Phoenix, Arizona as a meat clerk. There, he trained under some of the top butchers in the industry and honed his skills in the art of meat cutting. Jesse’s commitment to exceptional customer service and dedication to serving his customers earned him recognition within the company, and in 2004, he was awarded the “outstanding customer service” trophy and honored at a company-wide banquet.

In 2007, Jesse was promoted to Manager and began running his own meat department at Kroger. He stayed with the company for 18 years until he moved to the Greenville area with his wife in 2015. Unable to sit idle, Jesse was hired by Lowes grocery store to open and manage the meat, seafood, and BBQ department in Greer, SC. After a year that included a move to the Simpsonville area, Jesse desired to work closer to home and accepted a meat management position with Ingles.

Jesse’s expertise, passion, and extensive knowledge of the industry eventually led him to pursue his own business venture. In 2021, Begley’s Butcher Block was born, opening its doors on October 1, 2021, in downtown Simpsonville. Today, Jesse and his wife Candace are proud to offer the community their finest cuts of meat, personalized service, and commitment to quality that they have become known for.
